Why Actors Are Mothers Too (Even the Dudes)

My mom, Patricia Winnifred Larsen, was the most joyful, giving, and radiant person I’ve ever known.

She treated every child like her own, and though she left this world when I was 23, her love still fuels everything I create.

Every role. Every monologue.

Every moment I stand on stage.

So this week — in honour of Mother’s Day — we’re celebrating you, too.

Because acting is creation.
It’s nurturing.
It’s delivering life through story.

You are the mother of every role you play. Whether you’re working on a two-line co-star or your next lead, you’re bringing something new into the world.

Let’s honour that.

FEATURE STORY: Actors Are Mothers Too (Even the Dudes)

Mothers incubate, nourish, deliver, and nurture.
Actors rehearse, embody, explore, and perform.

You take ink on a page and breathe soul into it.
You give it your voice. Your presence. Your truth.
And then... you share it.

Every time you prep an audition, rehearse a monologue, or tell a story on screen — you're bringing something to life.

That’s creation. That’s motherhood. That’s the magic of our craft.

COACHING PROMPT OF THE WEEK

Mother the Moment.
This week, ask yourself:

“What does this moment need from me right now?”

Listen. Hold space. Let truth rise.

The strongest scenes are the ones you nurture, not force.

TWO RESOURCES THAT CHANGED MY BUSINESS & LIFE (AND COULD CHANGE YOURS)

As an actor, coach, and creative, I always believed in the power of performance — but I never imagined how far my creativity could go until I built my first digital product.

That one shift changed everything.

Now, I want to share the same tools that helped me build a business around my art — not instead of it.

Here are two resources that helped me do it:

1. Free Training: Your First Digital Product

This free training from James Wedmore showed me how to stop chasing gigs — and start creating real income with my own expertise.

You’ll learn:

• How to turn your skills into a scalable online offer

• The 3 myths holding most creators back

• Why digital products are the most profitable, fulfilling, and freedom-giving business model

If you’ve ever wanted more time, more money, or more creative control...

→ This is your next step.

2. Hear My Story on The Mind Your Business Podcast

Episode 759: How Joey Larsen Turned His Passion for Acting Into a Recurring Revenue Machine

James invited me onto the podcast to share how I went from working actor with a side hustle...

to building a growing, scalable business that serves hundreds of actors (and still lets me do what I love).

We talked about:

• The exact path I took to build Actors Audition Club

• The mindset that helped me scale without sacrificing my art

• Why now is the best time for creatives to start something of their own
